California FFA members took center stage during Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour stop in California this past weekend, helping lead a statewide food donation effort that delivered more than 9,000 canned goods to local food banks.

The country music star brought his Farm Tour back to California for a second consecutive year with performances in Clovis and Elk Grove, but beyond the concerts themselves, organizers emphasized community service and agricultural education through partnerships with Bayer, Feeding America, and local FFA chapters.

As part of the 2026 “Spirit of 1776” CAN DO Challenge, California FFA chapters created patriotic displays made entirely from canned food donations in recognition of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. After the displays were completed, all donated items were distributed to regional hunger-relief organizations, including the Central California Food Bank and Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

The challenge aimed at placing the role FFA members continue to play in supporting rural communities while promoting agricultural leadership and service at center stage. In addition to the FFA-led effort, concertgoers attending the Farm Tour events were encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to help families facing food insecurity across California’s Central Valley.

Luke Bryan‘s Farm Tour was created the tour in 2009 to celebrate and recognize the important work of American farmers and to bring full-production concerts to smaller towns. The California events continued Bayer’s partnership with Luke Bryan and Feeding America, which organizers say has helped provide more than 11 million meals to rural communities since 2015.

Bryan’s Farm Tour has long focused on celebrating farm families and rural America, but the California stops demonstrated how FFA chapters are helping connect agriculture with community outreach efforts. Through the CAN DO Challenge, students combined creativity, teamwork and service while raising awareness about hunger needs in their local communities.

Bryan recently announced the dates for the fall leg of his 2026 Farm Tour, which will include stops in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana in September.
