Expanded tillage offering from John Deere

John Deere announced the introduction of new two-section HSD high speed disc implements in late January. The line will now include 15-, 19-, 22- and 25-foot working widths.

The new discs will offer the same features that the larger HSD models introduced when they debuted in early 2025.

“We heard from customers who needed the benefits and performance of the high-speed disc in a more compact option,” said Michael Porter, Deere’s marketing manager for tillage equipment.

“The new two-section options in smaller widths deliver that flexibility while maintaining the field finish that define the HSD lineup.”

There were also additional tillage-related news from Deere on the autonomy front.

The green brand has already begun limited released of its autonomous 8R tractors for tillage applications, and it is looking toward further release of autonomy-capable high-horsepower tractors in the future, with 9R tractors now available pre-wired for eventual compatibility with autonomous operation.

As a result, the company has already begun making autonomy-ready tillage tools available for self-driving tractors.

For 2026, autonomy-ready capability is now available on Deere’s 2730 combination ripper and the 64-foot and 69-foot models of the 2230 field cultivator.

Growers with 2016 or newer 2730 combination rippers can update to autonomy-ready through a precision upgrade kit. Combination ripper upgrade kits will be available for order starting this summer from Deere dealers, while field cultivator kits are already available.
