SASKATOON — Farmers of North America (FNA) claims it is being thwarted in its attempt to regain control of the AgraCity Group of assets.

AgraCity is a Saskatchewan-based crop input provider that was granted creditor protection by the Saskatchewan Court of King’s Bench on Dec. 1, 2025.

Ernst & Young is the court-appointed monitor for the creditor protection proceedings.

It contacted about 80 potential qualified bidders to participate in phase 1 of the sales process for the AgraCity assets. FNA was not one of those 80.

“The monitor (Ernst & Young) is refusing to allow FNA and its members into the sales process, citing FNA and its members do not have the capacity to solve the financial problem,” FNA president James Mann said in a press release.

Why it Matters: Mann claims all of the AgraCity Group of companies were built with FNA members’ money.

FNA has conducted 10 town hall meetings with its members, who say they need more time and information to understand the situation.

The organization is urging its members to let their voices be heard by the monitor.

“This is about facts, lawful options and the long-term implications for farmer profitability and control in the crop protection and fertilizer market,” said Mann.
