Kansas City, MO., (August 17, 2026) – Today Farm Journal‘s, Pro Farmer kicks off its 34th annual Crop Tour, continuing a more than three-decade tradition of providing to farms of all sizes an independent, boots-on-the-ground assessment of the nation’s corn and soybean crops.

Each year, scouts who typically spend their days on farms and working in the ag industry travel thousands of miles across the Corn Belt and volunteer with CropTour. They fan out across seven states to gather firsthand field observations that provide producers, agribusinesses and commodity markets with valuable perspective on crop conditions and yield potential.

Those independent insights have become a trusted benchmark for agriculture, complementing traditional crop reporting, satellite imagery, and remote sensing technologies.

Crop Tour brings together farmers, agronomists, analysts, media and industry leaders for a week of collaboration, conversation and firsthand reporting – an event many call agriculture’s family reunion. Throughout the week, Pro Farmer and Farm Journal deliver real-time updates across digital platforms, social media, newsletters, Farm Journal TV and daily market analysis, helping the agriculture community stay informed as the tour unfolds.

“The Pro Farmer Crop Tour is about far more than just providing another set of crop estimates,” said Bill Watts, Pro Farmer Editor. “It’s about getting the first, comprehensive, boots-on-the-ground look at what’s actually going on across the most important corn-and-soybean growing areas. And that ground truth gives farmers and everyone involved in agriculture a real-time read on what’s happening in the field and what it means for the market.”

As part of Farm Journal’s ongoing commitment to serving American agriculture, live coverage of Crop Tour will be available Monday through Thursday from 8 AM CT to 3 PM CT on FarmJournalTV.comAgWeb.comProFarmer.com and Farm Journal’s YouTube Channel. Daily results will be released each night during a live simulcast that begins at 7:55 PM CT on these same outlets. Extensive coverage will also be shared across social media, search for #PFTour26 to follow along.
