REGINA — A large shuffle of top Saskatchewan bureaucrats has resulted in a new deputy minister of agriculture, but he is a familiar face to the industry.

Shawn Jaques, previously the chief executive officer of Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corp. and then Water Security Agency, has taken over from Bill Greuel.

Greuel had returned to the province as deputy minister in 2024 after heading Protein Industries Canada. He is now the deputy minister of energy and resources.

The interim president and CEO of WSA is Cam Swan.

Jodi Banks was deputy minister of trade and export development but has been replaced by Richelle Bourgoin. Banks is now president and CEO of Crown Investments Corp.

Sharla Hordenchuk replaced Kevin France at environment. France has gone to SaskBuilds.

Kyle Toffan remains deputy minister of highways.

Several other deputies also changed jobs.
